Accommodation overview: Perfect for an 'away-from-it-all' break, this unique property adjoins a historic 16th century castle on a 1300 acre estate. The sympathetic conversion provides warm, comfortable and unpretentious accommodation with many original features such as stone flag floors, stone windowsills and wooden shutters. All accommodation is on the ground floor. On the edge of the Highlands, the moors, woods and wetlands of the estate are home to an amazing diversity of wildlife including the largest beaver colony in Britain, wild boar, deer and birds. Guests are welcome to explore and this is a paradise for zoologists, botanists, ornithologists and photographers. Sheltered lawns, outdoor furniture, barbecue and parking are adjacent to the property. Final access is by 1/2 mile of unsurfaced private road.
4 miles along a country road, the little town of Alyth has 3 golf courses as well as good shops and inns and Perth and Dundee are less than an hour's drive. For walkers the renowned Cateran Trail passes through the estate and quiet roads lead into the magnificent scenery of the Perthshire and Angus glens. There is good angling nearby and the Glenshee Ski Area is less than an hour away.
