From the meadows there are picturesque and nostalgic views of the West Somerset Steam Railway.
Just 13 miles away are the towns of Taunton and Minehead each with a swimming pool and a sports centre. Dunster Castle (N.T.) is 11 miles. There is superb walking riding and mountain biking nearby in the Quantock Hills the Brendon Hills and on Exmoor.
