The owner’s stables next door are a great attraction for young and old, and guests can even bring their horse on holiday as livery is available. There is a shared indoor heated swimming pool just a short walk (booking may be required in busier times) and use of a shared games room so there is plenty to keep everyone entertained. Fabulous beaches and breathtaking coastal paths are in abundance. The wide, sandy beach and rolling breakers of Widemouth Bay are just a 15-minute drive or alternatively try Crackington Haven, a delightful, unspoilt cove with dramatic cliffs, beach cafes and lovely village inn. Dramatically perched on the north Cornish coast, Bude is incredibly popular year round and yet manages to retain its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone and has an excellent selection of shops and restaurants, many offering local seafood. The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club (one of Cornwall’s finest) along with stunning coastal and country walks, tennis, horse riding, mountain boarding, surfing and fishing are all on offer here. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. The pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are well worth a visit and mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle is close by.
