Quiet country lanes are ideal for cycling and walking and it is close to Layer Marney Tower and the pretty town of Maldon with its picturesque harbour. In the area there are a host of attractions. Just 2 miles is the famous jam factory at Tiptree a must to visit for afternoon tea. Colchester with its splendid castle and grounds and its famous zoo Constable country Lavenham and Dedham and Mersea Island with its company shed restaurant enjoys a fine reputation and the oyster bar should not be missed all are within an easy drive.
