Accommodation overview: Idyllically set in just under an acre of woodland garden on a hillside, some 400ft above, facing west and overlooking the Wye Valley, Spring Cottage makes for a peaceful and relaxing place to take a holiday. With stunning and far reaching panoramic views towards the Black Mountains, this is a beautiful spot to just escape from everyday living. Originally a 19th-century farm cottage, it has been carefully renovated and extended by its present owners to provide spacious, comfortable and relaxing accommodation and is beautifully furnished in traditional style with oak beams, open fires, wood and original flagstone floors.
Ideally placed for exploring, it lies on the edge of the Forest of Dean and only 10 minutes from Symonds Yat, while the towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth lie a mere 6 miles distant. Historic Hereford with its cathedral repository of the famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library is well within easy reach, whilst Cheltenham is an easy drive. This lovely and unique area offers something for everyone from outdoor activities, such as canoeing, walking, climbing and golf to museum and cave visiting, rides on the Forest Railway and adventure playgrounds. The local area has many excellent pubs and restaurants with a range of cuisine from the exotic to the more traditional fayre. Shops 1 mile, two pubs within ½ mile.
