Accommodation overview: This delightful and unique octagonal house, formerly an 18th-century smallholder’s cottage, nestles in an idyllic and peaceful setting by a bubbling stream and a wonderful waterfall in a wooded combe in the heart of the Quantock Hills. It is surrounded by its own garden and National Trust land, with endless miles of walks among ancient oak and beech trees and on the heathland, with its ponies, sheep and red deer. Reached via an unmade track and over a footbridge, it makes an excellent holiday hideaway, just 2 miles from the fossil-rich coast. Golf and trout fishing nearby. Superb birdwatching (flycatchers, dippers, buzzards, woodpeckers etc). Shop 1½ miles, pub within walking distance. Spacious living room, overlooking waterfall, with wood-burning stove in inglenook. Fitted kitchen/dining room, adjoining bathroom with toilet. One step to double bedroom with brass bedstead. Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Bedrooms have interconnecting doors.
