Accommodation overview: This fabulous detached former farmhouse is Grade II listed and is situated on the edge of the Pennines with breathtaking views. Parts of the building date back to the 13th century and 17th century and retain many original features including medieval features, heavy original timber work and beams, along with mullion windows. It also boasts its own indoor games room with full-size snooker table as well as air hockey, table tennis and a plasma TV. The terraced garden extends to ¾ acre and has its own pond and waterfall along with large decked area from where the panoramic views can be enjoyed. Accessed via a ¾-mile track, it makes a perfect holiday base with excellent walks literally from the door.
Stainland is situated in the Pennines and is ideal for visits to both Bronte Country and the Peak District National Park. Set in West Yorkshire, there are super opportunities for varied walks in the lovely Calderdale valley, Holme valley as well as Saddleworth and Marsden Moors (NT). There is easy access to both Leeds and Manchester across the M62 - both cities providing excellent shopping, nightlife and restaurants. Within easy driving distance is the delightful village of Haworth with its cobbled streets, whilst Holmfirth to the south is the setting for the long running TV series Last of the Summer Wine. Marsden, on the Huddersfield canal, boasts the Stanedge tunnel - the highest, longest and deepest tunnel in Britain. Pub 2 miles.
