Within easy reach are numerous nearby attractions including Constable Country, Lavenham, Castle Hedingham with Britain’s finest and best preserved Norman keep,and the market town of Sudbury, home of the artist Gainsborough. A short drive away are the Colne Valley railway and museum and Gosfield Lake which offers 18 hole golf, water skiing, fishing and nature walks. Also within an easy drive are historic Cambridge, Newmarket for a day at the races and Colchester which is Britain’s oldest recorded town with a castle, museum and zoo.
