Accommodation overview: In a beautiful setting with uninterrupted views over open countryside, Burns Cottage has been created from traditional farm buildings and offers well appointed, versatile accommodation. Primarily on a single level (but with some split-level galleried bedrooms), it has been traditionally furnished and decorated throughout to a high standard. Special features of the property include a swimming pool, sauna, and games room. There is also a full catering service available for special occasions.
Greta Bridge is a landmark hamlet, south of the A66 trans-Pennine road and only 4 miles south-east of the market town of Barnard Castle. Built on the site of a Roman settlement, and beside the pretty River Greta, is the neighbouring Morritt Arms Hotel (a 17th-century coaching inn, where Charles Dickens stayed whilst researching for his novel Nicholas Nickleby), which serves delicious food.
There is much to do and see in the surrounding area with Darlington a mere 18 miles distant. Within an hour’s drive there are many racecourses including Sedgefield, Catterick, Wetherby, York and Newcastle to name but a few. Scotch Corner is 9 miles, and Teesside 30 miles. Wonderful walks from the cottage. Shop 3½ miles, pub/restaurant 50 yards.

Accommodation overview: Stonecroft is a traditional style, 18th century stone Yorkshire Dales cottage, quietly situated in a cobbled lane, just off the Market Square in the historic Wensleydale town of Middleham. The  imposing castle is a short distance away and all the town's amenities are within a minutes' walk where you will find a regular bus service. Although recently totally renovated to a high standard, Stonecroft still retains much character and many original features, including exposed beams in all rooms and exposed stonework to parts of the kitchen. The property is heated by a multi-fuel stove set in an inglenook fireplace which controls the central heating. Portable heaters are also provided and water can be heated through the immersion heater. The period oak furnishings and subtle concealed lighting have been carefully selected to make your stay cosy and comfortable in this delightful holiday home. Outside, to the front of the cottage, there is private parking and a small, south facing patio area on which are many container-grown shrubs and plants.
