3 miles up the spectacular coastline a deservedly recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies Bamburgh – dominated by its splendid castle – whilst the causeway leading to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a little further. An easy 12 mile drive south reaches Alnwick Castle renowned as the film location for Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films and beside it Alnwick Gardens an exciting contemporary space featuring gloriously vivid planting stunning water displays and one of the largest tree houses in the world.
