Accommodation overview: Drimdarroch Farm Steading Cottage is a beautiful detached converted steading located on a working farm near the small village of Strachur, which lies on the east shore of Loch Fyne.  The open plan kitchen with dining and lounge area has oak flooring and is spacious and light. The kitchen has been completed to a very high standard with corian worktops and sink, soft closing unit doors, large stove style cooker and is very well equipped. The large wooden farmhouse table provides space for everyone to dine together. There is a vaulted ceiling over the lounge area and the gable end is fully glazed to provide a superb view over Loch Fyne. Doors lead onto the patio area, sheltered on one side by an outbuilding, with a great view to the countryside. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom, bunk room and bathroom; with a further two large double bedrooms upstairs, both with en suite facilities. Drimdarroch has been lovingly renovated and tastefully decorated. From the garden you have access across fields to loch side (500 metres).  The cottage backs onto the farm yard and you have a lovely westward facing aspect on the other, across farm fields, to the hills beyond and Loch Fyne.  The local village shop and small cafe are only a short drive north and there is also a lochside restaurant 3 miles south.  Strachur is a great location to explore the surrounding area, there are sea lochs to investigate, mountains to climb, with an abundance of wildlife and history to delve into. The Argyll Forest is on the doorstep, which is part of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and there are numerous forest tracks, marked walks, cycle ways and wonderful waterfalls to find within this area. There are many good eateries within easy driving distance where you can sample this local produce; Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is famous for its sea-food.  Strachur House is part of the Scotland Gardens Scheme and is open to the public at certain times of the year.  Ian Fleming's character James Bond was said to be inspired by a man who once lived in this area, Sir Fitzroy MacLean, who in 1962 developed the Creggans Inn located in the village of Strachur. The ruins of Old Castle Lachlan can be explored. There are four golf courses close by and many opportunities for a spot of fishing. Take time to visit Dunoon which has a good centre for shopping, leisure facilities and a cinema. Benmore Botanic Gardens is a must see with its avenue of Giant Redwoods and wonderful plants, as is the Ardkinglas Gardens. The Isle of Bute is only a short drive and ferry crossing away and you could visit the fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House. Inveraray is also a great day out with the Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll or a visit to 19th century Inveraray Jail which is great fun for the whole family.  The Cowal Peninsula is a fantastic peaceful location to relax in or for the more adventurous, explore and find hidden treasures.
