There are two pubs in the village both of which serve food. Situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels you are surrounded by excellent bridle paths for walking and a rich source of wildlife and birds. The area is very flat and excellent for cycling. Equipped and furnished to a high standard you will be ideally placed for either a relaxing and tranquil holiday or as a base for visiting the many beaches along the north coast of Somerset as well as a wealth of popular attractions to suit all tastes which include historic Roman Bath Clarks Village at Street Longleat Safari Park numerous National Trust properties and gardens Brean Leisure Park and more. Peacefully situated in the small village of Stawell beside the Polden Hills and close to the Somerset Levels nature reserves and walks fishing can also be accessed. An ideal base for a touring holiday whether by car or bicycle and is centrally positioned for the nearby towns of Street famous for Clarks shopping village and historical Glastonbury known for its Abbey Tor and annual Extravaganza in August. Further afield is Wells at the foot of the Mendip Hills with its cathedral and farmer s market on Wednesday mornings. Other local attractions include Cheddar Caves and Gorge Wookey Hole and the beaches at Burnham-on-Sea Brean Sands and Weston-Super-Mare.
