Accommodation overview: Potts Farm Oast offers guests a unique opportunity to stay in a spacious twin round kiln oast house surrounded by grassland farms with access to footpaths across the fields. Once used for drying fresh hops before they were sent to the brewers to flavour the beer, it has now been thoughtfully restored and makes an ideal holiday destination for two families, an extended family or groups of friends to enjoy the beautiful Kentish countryside and discover why it holds the title of ‘The Garden of England’. Stroll through the fields and picnic in the garden in the summer or take a brisk walk in winter and then return to curl up in front of the inviting wood-burning stove. To keep guests amused, there is a games room/snug in the roundel with board games and puzzles, and outside there is an enclosed lawned garden beside the oast with children’s play equipment and an open-fronted barn. If time permits, explore Tenterden – aptly described as ‘The Jewel of the Weald’ with its weatherboarded tea shops and cottages. Take a magical ride on the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway to the medieval moated castle at Bodiam. Sample the local award-winning wines at Chapel Down Winery, visit Sissinghurst Castle Gardens (National Trust) created by the novelist - Vita Sackville west and Sir Harold Nicolson in the 1930s. Rye is a 30-minute drive. Beaches and sand dunes at Camber Sands are a 40-minute drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 11/2 miles. Step down to spacious living room with wood-burning stove. Morning room. Spacious kitchen/dining/family room. Utility/boot room. Games room/snug in roundel. Separate toilet. First floor: Step up to double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.
