Accommodation overview: Doune Apartment occupies the ground floor of a detached cottage situated in 300 acres of farmland right on the side of the beautiful Loch Bracadale. It enjoys stunning views across this lovely sea loch to the hills and mountains beyond. The property offers bright, spacious and exceptionally well-presented accommodation in a stunning setting. The large open-plan kitchen/dining room opens out into the garden through patio doors. The very spacious lounge has large picture windows that drink in the views across the sea. All bedrooms are large and beautifully presented, with en-suite shower-rooms throughout. With solid oak flooring, high quality furniture, furnishings and fittings Doune Apartment provides a luxurious holiday base from which to explore the wonderful and unspoilt Isle of Skye. The surrounding area is a haven for wildlife, with golden eagles nesting in the mountains and Minke whale, porpoises and seals spotted in the adjoining bay. The resident otter can sometimes be seen from the windows (telescope also provided!).There are some superb walks direct from the property, including an interesting walk through to a deserted Highland clearance village, following a picturesque river valley. For serious walkers and climbers it is only a few minutes to the renowned Cuillin mountain range. For those with a penchant for the sea, there is a boat pier just a few yards from the property which visitors are welcome to use. There is even storage space for canoes and small craft in the large basement area underneath the cottage. There are numerous places of interest within easy reach. Talisker Distillery is just a short drive, and 7 miles away is Dunvegan Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland and seat of the Clan MacLeod since the 13th century, which is well worth a visit. Visitors are welcome to wander the beautiful grounds and also take a boat to encounter the seals closer to hand. There is also a renowned coral beach nearby. The pretty harbour town of Portree is just 10 miles via the hill road. Set around its natural harbour, with spectacular hills and mountains beyond, Portree is a quintessentially picturesque fishing village. Brightly painted cottages cluster round the active harbour where some of the finest fish restaurants can be found. There is also an excellent selection of local shops, pubs and other restaurants.

There is no shop, but just 5 miles away is the picturesque resort of Plockton and a wider choice of shops will be found in Kyle of Lochalsh, 9 miles to the south west.
