Accommodation overview: Acorn Cottage is located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, in the popular village of Aberfoyle. This single storey cottage is beautifully presented, with great attention to details. The lounge has two leather sofas, a large wood burning stove and large picture windows making the room bright and airy. There is a large kitchen, fully fitted and well equipped with a dining area. The kitchen has access straight onto the decking at the side of the property leading to a spacious garden with raised patio area. From the back of the garden there is direct access onto the hillside and ancient woodland. Both bedrooms are beautifully co ordinated, with satellite TV and DVD. This fantastic cottage is nestled down a quiet lane yet only 500 yards from all the village amenities. Guests of Acorn Cottage are welcome to the use of free river and loch side fishing. Loch Ard (4 miles) is simply stunning, with small islands and a crannog to explore; boat hire is available on the loch. This is an excellent location for outdoor enthusiasts with miles of forest trails to explore and the vast Queen Elizabeth Forest is right on the door step. The Trossachs has spectacular mountains to climb like Ben Lomond, Ben A'an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi with an abundance of wildlife to spot including ospreys, red squirrels and pine martens to name but a few. There are lots of activities for every age and interest including, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, guided walks, 4x4 safari's, quad biking and sailing. For the adventurous Aberfoyle has a high wire forest adventure, with the longest zip wire in Britain. Aberfoyle also has an 18 hole golf course. From this central location you can easily travel and explore. It is an area steeped in history and there are lots of places of interest to visit. The Glengovne Distillery producing Highland Single Malt Whisky, is only 8 miles south at Dumgoyne. Accommodation overview: Alder Cottage is located within walking distance of the tranquil village of Kinlochard. This detached cottage is situated within six acres of private ground, within the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.  The cottage is ramp accessible. Approached by a farm drive, nestling in a secluded spot, it enjoys breathtaking valley views. Very well furnished and equipped, its history is impressive - its date-stone pin-points the farmhouse’s origin at 1810, however, field name documents reach as far back as the 13th century. Set on the edge of the owners’ working farm, cows and calves herd themselves across over one hundred acres of farmland, with an abundance of wildlife and walks from the doorstep.

At Wetton Mill in the Manifold Valley amidst some staggering scenery, a cycle trail, closed to traffic for most of its route, follows the line of a narrow-gauge railway, (which ran from the turn of the century until the 1930s) and a river for some seven miles - even passing through the old railway tunnel. Cycle hire is available locally. Accommodation overview: Mill House Annex is situated in a very unique location on the very banks of the River Endrick near the hamlet of Gartness, on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.  Mill House Annex dates back to the 1800's when it once was a working mill producing textiles.  The water wheel has long gone but evidence of the water ways and structures can still be seen. The property is quaint and quirky with thick walls, floors which run off at different angles, ceilings of varying heights and even a few stone steps to take you up from the lounge into the kitchen area.  Stable doors lead out to an open mature garden area and the river side is only 3 metres away.  You hear the constant rush of the river as it flows by sometimes it is louder after heavy rain, then it becomes more of a roar!  The waterfall beside this property are known as The Potts and are a series of rocky pools, flat slab rocks creates a 'salmon ladder' where fish leap, making their way up steam to spawn a really special sight to see.  The river is also famous for trout and by request there is free seasonal fishing available from the grounds of the Mill. While relaxing by the river you may see an abundance of regular wildlife visitors the kingfishers, heron, ducks and woodpeckers to name a few, so bring your binoculars. All essential local amenities can be found at Killearn (1.5 miles), with hotels, pubs, restaurants and shops.  Leisure facilities can be found within 3 miles. There are quiet roads and trails to explore in the area with good access for walks and cycling.  The West Highland Way passes through Gartness.  Loch Lomond is only an 8 mile drive away at Balmaha.  A variety of boat trips can be taken on the loch or you can hire a boat/kayak to explore yourself or for fishing.   Balloch lies on the south shore of Loch Lomond and is the home to the National Park Gateway Centre, Loch Lomond Shores retail outlets and a Sea-life Centre.  The National Park offers plenty of hill walking, from a brisk ramble to more serious Munro bagging.  There are numerous golf courses in the area. Glengoyne Distillery is open to the public for tours and a sample of the uisge beatha or the water of life!  From nearby Milngavie you can take the train into Glasgow for some retail therapy, or travel by bus or car to Stirling to visit some historical places of interest.  In surrounding villages you will find a variety of outdoor activities from highwire adventure to pony trekking.  The secluded position of the Mill House Annex makes it an ideal hideaway for relaxing and enjoys the countryside right on the doorstep and its central location makes it a great base to explore further afield. Accommodation overview: Honeyholm Croft is a beautifully appointed semi-detached property sitting on the banks of the River Endrick, looking south over to the Dumgoyne Hills and Campsite Fells.  Situated on the edge of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, this property has in a peaceful countryside location within the Strathendrick Valley.   The cottage is over 400 years old and has been lovingly restored to a very high standard.  The building is full of character features.
