Situated just off the cobbled square in Richmond and with countryside views, it possesses tremendous character, style and space. The restored Coach House is separately set within the shared gardens of the owner’s home. The ancient town of Richmond, at the gateway to Swaledale, has an unfinished 11th-century castle and an excellent market place. The town is a hive of activity, offering a theatre, shops, inns, restaurants and a host of other town amenities. A riverside footpath leads gently to Easby Abbey, with some parts still remaining. Other historic and religious sites in the area include Bolton Castle, Jervaulx Abbey and Coverham Abbey. Within driving distance are Scotch Corner and Catterick (once the home to a Roman camp), and Kiplin Hall is well worth a visit.
