Accommodation overview: Gigha Apartment is located on the ground floor of Muasdale House which itself dates back to 1851. The House sits in the middle of the tiny village of Muasdale with the most wonderful views west onto the islands of Cara, Gigha, Islay, the Paps of Jura and the Atlantic beyond. This westerly location provides you with stunning sunsets, which you can enjoy while relaxing in the lounge or while strolling on the beach. The flat has wonderful original features with high ceilings, cornicing, decorative window shutters and wide oak doors. Positioned within the grounds of the small caravan park you have the use of additional facilities such as a games room with table tennis and a pool table. The location provides ideal opportunities for fishing, a canoe/kayak can easily be launched or you can just spend the day relaxing on the beach. Muasdale village is small and quiet with a small local shop. Campbeltown (15 miles) offers all the additional facilities you may require including supermarkets, shopping, swimming pool, cinema and eateries. There are lots of places to explore throughout the Kintyre Peninsular. Close proximity to the sea provides numerous coastal walks, boat trips, otter spotting, bird watching, sea angling and the brisk westerly winds offer ideal conditions for surfing or kite flying. From Tayinloan (4 miles) the ferry leaves for Gigha which is home to the famous Achamore House & Gardens. The island is ideal for cycling. The Kintyre Peninsular is steeped in history, St Columbia first landed in Scotland (AD563) at Southend. Off the harbour in Campbeltown is Davaar Island, you can walk out to it at low tide (if you are brave enough!) along the mile long causeway. The area is great for golfing as Machrihanish has two 18-hole golf courses, which are part of the Great Scottish Links Collection. The first hole on one course requires the opening shot to carry over the Atlantic! For walking enthusiast the Kintyre Way provides a great long distance walk (87 miles) from Tarbert in the north to Dunaverty Bay in the south. Kintyre really has the feel of a island without leaving the mainland. Property is all on ground floor level, has oil central heating.
