Accommodation overview: Tucked away down a country lane in the heart of Broadland and enjoying glorious views across open fields a range of handsome barns has been tastefully converted to create the attractive cluster of cottages we offer here. Some nestle under their traditional Norfolk thatch all are very comfortably appointed and each enjoys its own individual patio.
From the cottages a gentle and tranquil rural landscape dotted with ancient churches wind pumps and nature reserves among a myriad other delights all under vast arching East Anglian skies offers a wealth of opportunity for enjoying walking cycling and bird watching. Nearby How Hill nature reserve with its marsh meadows dykes woodland and open water is well worth exploring and the wider surrounding area supports a host of attractions. Riverside pubs and cafés are plentiful and a number of Broadland centres offer bike hire or canoe hire (possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and their abundant wildlife) and visitors can also hire boats at nearby Potter Heigham (4 miles) or take a pleasure cruise from bustling Wroxham – the capital of the Broads and home to the 'world's largest village store' as well as the train station for the Bure Valley narrow gauge steam railway. Close by newly opened Bewilderwood a magical tree top park promises children a day to remember and lovely dune backed sandy beaches are a short drive – Sea Palling lies just 6 miles away.
For lively family fun visitors need look no further than Great Yarmouth and its famous pleasure beach or Pleasurewood Hills theme park whilst Cromer also offers traditional seaside entertainments including a renowned end of pier show. Byegone museums craft centres and Blickling Hall (N.T.) area all within an easy drive as is the medieval city of Norwich with its magnificent cathedral castle galleries museums cinemas theatres and excellent shopping. A little further afield on the north Norfolk coast seal watching boat trips can be found at picturesque fishing villages many of which also boast pubs and restaurants serving superb locally caught seafood.
Coarse fishing is available on local waters just 400 yards away and the pretty village of Ludham (1 mile) boasts two pubs and a good range of shops.

The small hamlet of Portmellon is just a short stroll along the cliff path from Mevagissey, and is a secluded hideaway with stunning views across the bay and along the coast. The beach is a short stroll down the lane and provides all that guests will need for that special family day including swimming and rock pooling. A short walk along a track from the house leads to Chapel Point, a small headland with a quiet secluded beach, a ‘local secret’. The Cornish Coastal Path passes close to the house and leads to the villages of Gorran Haven to the west and Mevagissey to the east. The beaches of Portmellon and Gorran Haven have free boat launching and Bosprennis has ample space to store your boat. The area lends itself to exploring Cornwall as Portmellon is situated close to the Roseland Peninsula and the Lost Gardens of Heligan with its local farm shop, just a few miles away, as is the world famous Eden Project. Explore fine old country houses and gardens, some of the country’s finest are all within easy driving distance, together with some wonderful beaches, many of which are almost totally unchanged and look as they must have done in times gone by. The pretty villages of St Mawes, Tregony and Veryan are all close by. Truro, Cornwall’s capital, is easily reached and still has an old world charm with narrow cobbled streets and individual shops, a wide range of restaurants, theatre and cinema. The garden has a badminton net with racquets, a children’s slide and double swing. It is comfortably furnished and well equipped to provide a warm welcome for discerning guests at any time of year. There is the opportunity to receive farmhouse-cooked meals delivered to the door. Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (this applies from 2012. It is available on a Wednesday only during 2011), the heated indoor swimming pool is reserved for private use by Ketlam View holiday guests. The property lies 15 miles from the North Norfolk Coast with its excellent sandy beaches, Coastal Path, RSPB nature and bird reserves. The long sweep of sandy beach runs from Snettisham through the popular seaside towns of Heacham onto Hunstanton. Snettisham also has an RSPB Nature Reserve. The local area offers wonderful woodland and river walks, excellent walking can also be found close at hand, and the network of quiet lanes offer good cycle routes. The Royal Sandringham Estate and Museum, 10 miles, is open to visitors when the Royal Family are not in residence. Fly fishing and coarse fishing available at the nearby Narborough trout and coarse lakes, 1 mile. Many places of historical and interest lie in the surrounding area, including Castle Rising, Castle Acre Priory ruins, Houghton and Oxborough Halls, Walsingham Abbey and Shrine ruins. The medieval town of Kings Lynn has waterfront shops, shopping complex, a theatre, inns and restaurants, 8 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.
