Accommodation overview: Croft House is a traditional Cross Passage farmhouse, dating back to the 17th Century. It is a Grade II listed building. The Cross Passage refers to the days when it separated the animals from the rest of the house - in those days everything lived under the same roof, the animals providing heat for the rest of the house! Nowadays the animals live separately.. New owners upgraded the house in 2011 into a very comfortable and welcoming house which is full of character and traditional features, including large stone fire places and walls, with lots of oak beams. Situated in the hamlet of Berrier, inside the National Park, Croft House is within 10 minutes drive of the M6 and close to Ullswater and Keswick. The nearest pub is the Sportsman which serves bar meals, approximately 1 mile away.
