Each one offers individual character and charm. Converted from former barns, the cottages have been created with great attention to detail by caring owners to offer a holiday experience to remember. Set on the edge of Embleton Village, on what was once voted the most romantic bay in England and close to the popular villages of Craster, renowned for its smoked kippers, and Beadnell with its water sports and Newton-by-the-Sea with its National Trust beach and micro brewery. Alnwick is only 7 miles with its majestic castle (used in the Harry Potter films), lots of cobbled streets, enchanting gardens, playhouse, inns and restaurants. Dunstanburgh Castle in nearby Craster makes a lovely walk along the cliff top, reached only by foot. Finish off with fresh seafood on the way back in one of the many fine and friendly pubs dotted along the coast. Seahouses known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed but check the tides first or take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals whilst in Seahouses. Embleton village has a friendly pub and restaurant, garage, post office, well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea (an NT beach) by arrangement with the owner.
