Accommodation overview: Regular visitors to Borrowdale will be familiar with the former Yew Tree Inn at Seatoller, which the owners of Honister Slate Mine have converted into the ultimate in luxurious self catering, Built in the 17th century Honisters Cottage just oozes character, it retains its traditional features, including slate floors, open fire, a wealth of beams (some of which are very low) and original timber partitions, but with the benefit of a modern kitchen and bathrooms and beautiful furnishings. It is situated at the foot of Honister Pass and next to the Yew Tree tea room (seasonal opening) and has the benefit of a large rear garden leading down to a fast flowing ghyll. A welcome hamper of the finest Cumbrian foods is provided and guests can order an evening meal comprising of 3 courses for £25 per person.
