Accommodation overview: A magical setting on the shores of Lake Windermere providing the perfect holiday location. This exceptional house, one of a pair, offers spacious, light rooms and inspirational contemporary decor and lighting. Situated at the southern tip of the lake, it is set in 4 acres of paddock and woods with a beck bordering one side, 150 metres of lake frontage and use of a jetty for boat launching. There is also an enclosed garden with decked terrace. The southern Lake District offers a spectacular choice of activities from watersports to mountain climbing, cycling and walking. Magnificent scenery surrounds visitors in every direction and there are many cultural events throughout the year around the lakes and at the historic castles, houses and gardens which abound in this area. The nearby village of Lakeside, 1½ miles, is home to the Aquarium of the Lakes and the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway - a great favourite with families and train enthusiasts. Bowness-on-Windermere, 7 miles, is a vibrant village with stylish boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, museums and the Beatrix Potter Exhibition. From here there is also a small car ferry across the lake to Sawrey, Hawkshead, the Grizedale Forest and Coniston, and the tourist boats for trips to Ambleside or a leisurely scenic excursion around the islands. Alternatively, simply relax in the grounds with a picnic beside the lake and a swin, weather permitting. This property is under the same ownership as Home Farm (LN2). Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile.

Accommodation overview: Situated at the southern tip of Lake Windermere in a semi rural location and very close to the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam Railway, Steam Train Cottage is within striking distance of a variety of activities and quaint Lakeland villages. The area is popular with canoeists and fishermen and being close to Grizedale Forest, the location is ideal for walkers and cyclists too. The cottage is neatly presented with 21st century styling and enjoys a delightful decked seating area giving way to lovely views of the steam railway passing by. The Swan Hotel, on the banks of the River Leven, offers great food throughout the day and is just 2 minutes stroll from the cottage. Please note that, due to the nearby railway line, we consider Steam Train Cottage suitable for only babes in arms.
