In the evenings the locally renown Hunters Inn is just over 1 mile away and is famed for its excellent food. Woody Bay and Lee Bay are popular sheltered coves with rock pools which are less than 4 miles away and slightly further afield are lovely sandy beaches like Woolacombe. Other attractions in the area include Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, The Valley of the Rocks, Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle, Exmoor Zoo and more. Ideally situated for touring Exmoor and the surrounding area. A stretch of the old Lynton to Barnstaple narrow-gauge railway crosses the farm. Leisure facilities: stroll the land and see the animals, enjoy feeding Crackerjack (our resident old pony) who still likes small children sitting on his back. Red deer are often seen on the farm. Situated to enjoy the best of both worlds, between the historic Lynmouth/Valley of the Rocks and Heddons Mouth/Combe Martin, which is perfect for painting, bird watching and walking. This is a walkers paradise in the heart of National Trust woodland and is one of the finest examples of scenic inland and coastal path walks in the whole of Great Britain with an abundance of wildlife. Yet not far from the glorious sandy beaches of the North Devon coast (Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands) offering excellent surfing, rock climbing, fishing, golfing and horse riding facilities. The cottage takes pride in its self sufficient, eco-friendly status, having been built using traditional lime plaster, reclaimed stones from the area and natural oak floors and carpentry along with 21st century solar panels and ground source heating.
